Quality Management System & Strategy

HAMC regards quality as 'customer value' and operates a global quality management system to produce and supply products of the quality required by customer at all global production bases. The same quality policy is newly distributed to all factories, emphasizing the importance of quality, and establishing and managing production quality standards for each process. Production activities are conducted according to the quality control process from the raw material and subsidiary material drop-off stage to the final product shipment stage.
We operate a quality-specialized organization centered on the Chief Technology Officer(CTO) and Chief Production Officer(CPO). Through regular monthly meetings and technical exchange meetings between business sites, cases and standards are shared with all production sites, and continuous monitoring and feedback are also provided. In addition, we are improving the common competency through job rotation and fostering the next-generation CTO·CPO through a professional manpower training program. And we strive to continuously improve the global quality management system and quality capabilities, including fostering local managers of overseas production subsidiaries.

C-Cube System and Collaborating with Customers

Collaboration between implementing organizations

Smart Integrated Quality Management

Quality management covers fluctuations(i.e. 4M changes during product development and production) so that they do not affect the quality of finished products. Product quality conformity is checked through the smart information system. Also product quality standard is integrally managed through IT systems(i.e. HQMS, SQMS, etc.) that cover import inspections, process, products, material inflow/product outflow inspection, data analysis(i.e. control chart, statistical data), and equipment interface information. Furthermore, in the event of a customer product complaint, all the related quality information is collected to trace production history, which is used to solve the issue and improve product quality.

Product Responsibility

Product Safety Verification Process

As an industrial materials manufacturer, HAMC conducts annual internal inspections by process, and improvement activities are carried out to ensure product safety during customers’ usage. In addition, to provide safe and non-hazardous products to customers, we continuously promote activities to reduce harmful factors until the product’s end-of-life.

  • Product Development
    • Hazard Check when Developing New Products
    • Substance analysis and product hazard check through third party during new product quality verification phase covering raw materials as well as final products
  • Raw Materials Purchasing
    • e-CMS - Chemical Substances Management System
    • Managing information and regulations on all chemicals used, and purchasing only substances that have been approved by the person in charge of chemical management after checking the regulations and approvals of substances in advance.
  • Raw Materials Usage
    • Chemical Substances Management Process
    • Enable our employees to work safely without being exposed to risk factors. E&S team and quality assurance team prevent the legal risks associated with the chemical substances regulations used in raw materials.
  • Finished Product Verification
    • Hazardous Substances Analysis
    • Regular monitoring of unexpected chemical reaction and unidentified hazardous substances through hazardous substances analysis such as EU-REACH, TSCA, RoHS, PaHS, PFOS.
  • Product Shipment
    • Lot Number Tracking Management System
    • We continuously operate the Lot tracking system in order to respond to unexpected toxic substance issues by accurately identifying their causes and estimating the extent of damage. We manage and track products’ manufacturing history, including raw materials, product qualities, and etc., using IT systems (i.e. e-CMS, integrated quality/production/warehouse management system).
    • 1) e-CMS: An electronic chemical substance management system
    • 2) REACH: EU’s new chemical substance management system that analyzes the contents of 209 substances of very high concern (SVHCs)
    • 3) TSCA: Analysis of the contents of five toxic chemicals (decaBDE, TTBP, HCBD, PCTP, and PIP) in the US
    • 4) RoHS: Analysis of the contents of heavy metals (lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury, and arsenic), phthalates, and flame retardants (HBCDD)
    • 5) PaHS: Analysis of the contents of aromatic compounds (benzo[a]pyrene)
    • 6) PFOS: Restriction on the use of perfluorooctane sulfonate

Product Environmental Impact Responsibility

In response to quantifying the environmental impact - not only carbon emissions of a product but also mineral resource use and environmental loads caused thereby in the air, water, and soil, we are expanding its carbon labeling certification to other impact. Our goal is to expand our coverage of life cycle assessment(LCA) and carbon footprint labeling. We are making various efforts to minimize negative environmental impacts that may occur in the product life cycle, from manufacturing and distribution to use and disposal. We continue to enhance the sustainability of the company and society by paying attention to activities that reduce negative environmental impacts on the environment and users.
